Q: What should I do if my DOG IS MATTED?

A: In today’s busy lives, it sometimes happens that are best friend’s brushing sessions get put at the bottom of our “To Do” list.  It happens to all of us.  The question is, what is best for our pet when this happens. Unfortunately, your groomer does not have a magic wand that will easily get rid of those mats. The matting starts at the skin and works its way out to the ends over time.  It is always worse at the skin level, than it is on the ends where you see it.  A tangle at the ends of the hair shaft is much easier and less painful to get out than a mat, because the groomer can hold the hair next to the skin while they are brushing the tangle, so that it does not pull on the skin.
